Uncertainty schema requirements
From Intamap
This page gives the functional and non-functional requirements for the uncertainty schema as a simple list of what the representation should be able to do, and what it can cope with!
Most of the requirements are still here - Matt can you move these over to here please! Some_more_requirements_for_UncertML_10/5/07
Some terms:
- pdf : probability density function or probability distribution function; a normalised function representing the probability distribution of a variable or a vector of variables, often also called a distribution.
[edit]
Functional requirements - things it can do
- Represent sample statistics, in particular moments.
[edit]
Non-functional requirements - things it should be
- reliability:
- usability: the schema should be simple to deploy with other technologies such as GML and should have a well defined naming convention that employs standard statistical language throughout.
- performance: the schema should be as compact as possible, but not at the price of usability, portability and extensibility which are all more important.
- portability: the schema should be able to be used within GML, O&M, SWE and other standards.
- extensibility: the schema should allow extension to include other distribution and other aspects of this. A particular issue might be the encoding of conditional distributions, which naturally leads on the representation of probabilistic models.
