BSIK/RGI
From Intamap
Funding
RGI is a Dutch funding programme for innovation in geographic information science. The project Real-time automatic interpolation of early-warning monitoring data (RGI-182) and its follow-up, Mapping services for nuclear and radiological emergencies (RGI-302) have been granted. In the first one, partners are RIVM, UU and WUR. In the second one, in addition to these, JRC and BfS are international partners. Both projects work with matching (60%), and the INTAMAP funds to UU and WUR are used as a partial matching source (15 or 25%). Paul Hiemstra is employed by the RGI projects from 9/1/06 to 12/31/08; Stephanie Melles is employed as a Postdoc at Wageningen University working on the RGI-302 project.
Examples
The following links show examples of real-time automatic interpolations of gamma dose rates from the Dutch radiation network.
- Animated movies of interpolated maps of gamma dose rates as a rain storm passes over the Netherlands. The output of the automatic mapping system is compared to rainfall radar images.
- The automap WMS client. The client is password-protected, and may eventually after some review become open to the public. Use the same login/passwd as for the restricted section of the intamap web site.
Workshop
One of the deliverables of the RGI project is a dissemination workshop, to be held (tentatively) Oct 11/12, 2007. Let me if you are interested in joining.
See here for the workshop excercises.
